I play yamaha TRB5 and I have ripped out the whole active circuit and installed a Bartolini Mk1 3-band eq. Oh my god my bass has come alive, it now breaths with the sound of wood. this little peice of silicone circuit board, wires and pots is amazing. Unlike the yamaha controls if you set on of the controls e.g the bass pot it does not throw all the other mid or treble controls out. All controls have a positive center dent, it must be said that this eq was supplied by those nice people at Ibanez uk and is in the SR905 bass. However what it does in the yamaha is pull out the natural tones which were being stiffled by the inefficent and quite honestly over engineered yamaha eq system
