As per all the other reviews, this is a sensational piece of gear. You can dispense with your standard heads preamp section and just use the SBDDI straight into your heads power amp input, or just use a dedicated power amp. No amp I have used recently comes close to the sound of the SBDDI. Warm, growly if you want, just sensational. I run treble at 2 o'clock, bass at 3, Presence at 12.0, drive at 11.0, and blend at 100%. My only fear is if it failed...(very expensive in Australia for some reason). I also use a Yamaha NE-1 Parametric for a bit of tweaking eq on my various basses (P-bass,Stringray and Jazz). Get one.
