I run this bass with Monster Bass cable thru an Eden Highwayman WT-500 amp
and an Eden 410XLT cabinet. for smaller jobs I use a Nemesis (Eden built)
112, 210 watts. An excellent little amp and a great value for the money.
I am currently using Tomastik-Infeld Jazz flats with great success (even
though Ken Smith hates the notion of these strings on "his" bass).
This bass sounds fantastic and has an exceptional range of tonal colors. I
have yet to find an unusable tone. It is a very warm sound, on the darker
side tonally, BIG, tight, focused, clean sounding instrument. It can sound
very lyrical and sweet, or as in your face as you need it to be.
I was able to talk to Ken Smith directly about wood choices and options
available. This gets the sound I want. His suggestions were right on. The
bass came to me flawless. When I opened the case for the first time, I was
truly taken aback by the beauty of this bass as well as the attention to
detail and superior craftsmanship. It plays very easily and the neck is
very comfortable to play. Truly a world class instrument.
