I lucked into this one. I wanted a small, well built, medium-powered combo and got a line on this used TE BLX-80. I bought it sight unseen and have been pleasantly surprised.
It is well built (indestructable comes to mind), and it completely fits my uses (home practice/church). It puts out a lot of sound for it's size and handles the lows very well.
It is a little on the bulky side and a tad bit heavy (53 lbs), but will fit in a trunk or back seat pretty easily.
>From what I have learned, it uses the TE GP7 pre-amp, and puts out a healthy 80 watts. TE doesn't make this model any more and newer versions are up to 150 watts with a
15" speaker. Between the shape switch and the EQ, you can get a lot of different tones.
This is my first experience into athe bass amp world, but for the price and performance level, I'm real happy. I'd buy Trace Elliot again.
