This is a great cabinet. It's focused, built like a tank, great lows, defined mids, sparkling highs ... everything you would want in a cabinet. The handles on the sides are slightly off-center, so when two people carry it, it balances perfectly ... but at 59 pounds, it's no sweat to carry it alone. The most amazing thing is how loud and clean it is for a 2 x 10 cabinet. I use a 400 watt Aguilar head (or a Hartke HA4000) and it handles both just fine. Seems just as loud and clean as the old Hartke 410 I had in the 80's ... but much, much warmer. I heard the Epifani 2 x 12 when I bought this box, and truthfully would have loved that, but did not have the cash at the time. The 2 x 12 is unbelievable. I visited the Epifani shop in Brooklyn personally. Nick Epifani is a true craftsman ... I watched as cabinets were being made ... they are absolutely air-tight ... 100% of the sound is coming out the front of the box ... not leaking from anywhere else. A few weeks ago, I stopped by just to say hello ... and Nick showed me prototypes of cabinets that he's redesigning. He plugged 'em in, and played a 5-string Fodera (their shop is upstairs from him in the same building) through them. He ain't a half-bad bassist, people. And he likes it loud! It's great to see the owner of a company using and bench testing his own product. Nick Epifani is totally dedicated to the ongoing improvement of his products ... and cares only about getting great sound, and making bassists happy with a great, professional-quality product. To him, it's all a labor of love for the musician. They ain't the cheapest cabinets you'll ever find, but that's okay, because an Epifani cabinet is probably the last one you'll ever buy. He's a hell of nice guy, too ... and I'd rather give my money to a nice guy than a faceless corporation.
