Well First of all this is my first real amp, so I don't know how helpfull
this review will be but i'll try to make it good. I've played through
about everything: Eden, SWR, Ampeg, Fender, Ashdown, Trace-Elliot, Carvin,
you name it...but i think this cab rocks all of them! I ordered this amp
on, I guess sort of a wing, because all I relied on was reviews like this
one.
Before I start I'll tell you the other gear that I have. I use a Tech 21
Sansamp RBI bass DI Rackmount, with a Mackie 1400i, and Furman PLP-Plus
conditioner. My bass is a Fender Standard Jazz bass.
Okay, this amp sucks power like crazy, I don't know why but it does...but
see the higher the setting the louder it gets, so it works. I have my
Mackie 1400i bridged mono into the acme. The less the eq the better....
The sound that comes out of this thing is unreal....Thundering, glass
shaking lows, clean punchy midrange, and crisp transparent highs, out of a
small cab. I called my friend up so he could come over and check it out,
also he's the guitar player of our group. Right when he walked in I hit
my top string, his jaw dropped and he was like WOW!!! I tried it out at a
gig in school, and I rocked our school gym. This was such an improvement
from what I had..a Fender BXR 100.....
This cabinet is made with a special internal structure used in airplanes,
so if you look closely the side pannels are bulging out a little because of
the internal bracing. It seems like the cabinet dosen't have a resonant
frequency because there is no "WOOOOOOO" when you hit certain notes. Also
this cab looks awesome....when I opened the box, I was mesmerized by the
look of it also. The builder is the owner of the company himself Andy
Lewis. He is a great guy because even though I live all the was over here
in Hawaii, he took the time to call me when we were deciding on shipping. He
went out of his way to look for the cheapest rate to ship everything.
There is also a cover you can buy with the amp I think it's worth it...
Over all I think this Acme Low B-4 Series II is the best amp out there in
it's price range!!!! If your looking for an amp that has deep thunderous
lows cleam midrange and detailed highs...get this cab, it also comes in a 2
x 10 and a 1 x 10 box...another detail left out was that these cabinets are
like PA speakers...I dare you to try them out for youe sound system...you
won't be dissappointed..when I get money I'll buy some for my PA!!!! for
now Aloha From Hawaii
