I bought this cabinet new and have had it for about three years. It has
seen indoor and outdoor gigs, rehearsals, you name it. I've had nothing
but good luck with it. The sound is smooth and deep, noticeably warmer than
most 4 x 10's (including SWR's pro line Goliath III), with good midrange
definition and clear highs. I turn off the piezo tweeter - it sounds too
raspy too me and just emphasises any high frequency noise you might be
picking up on stage.
The cabinet seems to be well built, and I like the carpet covering for
durability, but don't like it's tendancy to pick up everything that
touches it. I'm also not a huge fan of the plastic corners - while the
interlocking is nice, they tend to be brittle and can crack with a hard
impact. I've replaced several on this cabinet. Weight is heavy, but not
noticeably heavier than a lot of 4 x 10's.
I've played through a few 4 x 10's and also own an Ampeg SVT 410 HLF.
This cabinet compares very favorably with it and most others. I'd
recommend it to anyone looking for a new 4 x 10 on a budget.
