I bought this bass as a back up instrument to my Fender Jazz. I was and
still am impressed with the overall build quality of the instrument,
especially for a bass at this price. The neck is incredibley comfortable
and access to the top frets is excellent. The overall lightness of the
bass is suprising and would lead you to beleive that the tone would be
thin but this is not the case. This bass has tonnes of bottom end (the
strings are through-body) and bright snappy high's that make it ideal for
funk/slap style. I play through the Ashdown C210H 500ABM and have to back
off the bottom end when I use the Washburn or it wipes out the rest of the
band! My only complaint is that it is sometimes a little too 'driven'
for my taste. I like the sound and feel from the mosfet on the pre amp
section of the Ashdown but the Washburn drives so hard that it's best to
leave the valve out of the equation or the tone becomes distorted and
fuzzy.
All in all I would reccomend this instrument to anyone. At this price it
is one of the best options out there.
