I've waited 4 long years before investing on this bass along with a little sacrifice by selling my Ernie Ball Stingray 4 and my Fender American Jazz and all i can say is that, i clearly have no regrets. Yah sure..Sentimental Value? Right... i mean, whats the point of keeping basses if you're clear on NOT using em? Im no richie rich wannabe collector rockstar, nor am i sum 'specialist' who needs a 'specific' sound from a specific guitar..I.E "that Fender sound" LOL!!! Learn to 'finesse' your EQ and who knows.. maybe ya might get it! Enuf said...lol. Regarding the MODULUS, the moment i got it, the first thing i noted was the Carbon fiber spine that extended from the headstock to all the way thru the body cavity. Unlike fender, their version of 'carbon' are just 2 carbon wrapped wood dowels placed along side the truss rod...resulting in neck warpage and bending due to probable string tension. MODULUS, on the other hand extends their 'carbon spine' way beyond the the fretboard so to speak which means the 'carbon spine' is well in deep within the body of the bass. therefore, all string tension is supported by the carbon central structure, eliminating ALL warping and twisting...since the wood of the neck isn't subject to any 'load bearing stress' compared to a vast majority of basses out there. Believe me..wood is good..but warped wood isnt. Sound and Tone wise, its full, its there...clear, punchy, loud, soft, angry and smooth..its all there..leme put it this way..kinda like an angry music man with the warmth and presence of a jazz..and thats just gettin started..at least thats my interpretation...in all summation. YOU will be heard. Weight and Aesthetics..well..its not a back breaking warwick i can tell u that nor is it a 'wide' necked P-bass or Stingray and it aint even a thick 'bass'ball bat type neck jazz bass. which means..its profile is close to a 62 fender jazz..THIN. Neck width..about the same as a jazz but not too skinny. Again let me point out that these are MY comparisons alone. Value/Bang for the Buck..I'm happy..mind you, i've tried out other basses both off the shelf and boutique and clearly i've found my "IDEAL".
