I've tried and disliked various flats in the past. They've always felt too stiff and high-tension to me. I didn't want to go so far as Thomastik's reputed softness, so I gave the light Laklands a try. I'm very glad I did. These are nice and flexy with a great feel on my fingers, left and right. They seem kinda slippery in a good way. The tone is excellent - has the depth that I was looking for by wanting flats in the first place. I have them on my old Kramer aluminum necked DMZ5000 (PJ) and plan to give 'em a whirl on my Fender Amer Dlx Jazz. Slightly flubby I guess - the medium gauge might be better, though they may drift into the high tension that I disliked in other flats. All said, these things are excellent and staying put.
