One reviewer on this sight really trashed these strings. Well he must be playing out of an eight inch speaker or something because they sound good coming out of my SWR workingmans 15. They have a more old school bass sound thats bassy and ballsy, with more mids than highs but the highs do come out. Slap and pop sounds great with these and for a roundcore string they are not wobbly. The taperwound E string makes intonating easy. The E string saddle is only halfway down { in middle}. Some stings especially flats, I had the E saddle maxxed out! The tone is compareable to a 70's tone either funk, or rock depending how you dial them in. I wouldn't sting these through the bridge however. They are great for through body stringing. If you string throgh the bridge get the 7150's or the 7250's. But as far as these stings are concerned, they work well on my American Fender Jazz. Ive tried all kinds of strings including Elixir, DR, Thomistik Infeld, and Smiths. More and more Im starting to find that the $25.00+ strings are gimmick. Fenders, Ernie Ball Slinkys, D"Addario Nickel rounds, GHS Bassics, and believe it or not Vinci's are just as good if not better than the so-called super strings. Save yourself the cash and try one of these. If you play a Fender bass you cant go wrong with Fender strings.
