I have to say that when I saw the size of this unit at the local music store it was right in my sights. Then when I plugged my old upright Tyrolean in and played, it blew me away. With everything set flat. I use it now with a 12 inch Bag End cabinet, and very pleased. Also, sounds great with my Ibanez Musician electric bass. I can throw it over my shoulder, and carry other items to gigs. I did have to take it back twice though for problem with bad static, which they said was an effects loop thing. I love the size, the sound, and the construction of this little wonder. I never heard the Clarus amp, but would put this up against it. The fan is not very loud, which I think a fan is essential.I think that anyone looking for a compact and powerful little unit should check this out.
