This combo is a killer ! first by his weight but overall by its sound. Thanks to Marshall for providing such a good amp at a so affordable price. It has two pre-amp, one which immitate a valve sound and a more percussive one with transistors. The thing is that it really works ! The valve pre-amp that you choose thanks to a blend knob really gives a fat and warm sound, sweeter to the ears and the other pre-amp gives all the attack you need to slap like a crazy Marcus Miller. the 7 band graphic eq finishes to convince me that this combo is one of the more versatile I've ever meet. The compressor is quite efficient. The only thing is that that stuff is heavy, heavy heavy ! (or I really haven't got enough muscles to be a bass player). But any way, if the price for that sound is to train myself in pulling up bags full of stones, it's OK ! Sum up : knob : gain, blend for 2 pre-amp, bass, treb, compressor, 7 band graphic eq, volume, limitor, a deep switch to add some depth to the sound and a bright switch to add brilliance. Connection : active imput jack, passive imput jack, effect loop, line out jack, D.I. out put. You could think that with so much functions for that price, the bass state must have some problem somewhere. Not at all ! it sounds great, it seems solid as rock, it is extremaly versatile. Run to your local music store and buy one, you will not find anything as good for this price !
