I picked up this head at a going out of business sale. Paid the store cost
for it. This is the best head I've played thru in a long time. Tube and
solid state, It's the best of both worlds.
At first I just plugged in and started playing. Thats a bad idea with
this amp head. Crazy german engineering. It really pays to spend some time
with the manual. I own both passive and active instruments and they both
sound good thru this head, but you need to watch the gain and channel
output controls when switching between the instruments.
As far as eq goes, the only complaint is not enough mid control on the
solid state side. I've used this amp head in bands ranging from jazz to
reggae to hardcore and it always gives the tone you need and cuts thru the
mix. Just be sure to read the manual.
