As you might be able to tell from the "Controls" section - this bass
gives you MANY tonal options. I like it as much, but in a different
way, than my Ernie Ball Sterling (see other review). The Sterling has
a distinctive sound that retains its character through any EQ or
pickup position you put it in. The L-2000 is so cool because it gives
you the ability to cop a P-Bass, a J-Bass, or just about any other
tone you want. Through the amps I use, I've found the "Active +
Treble Boost" position to be a bit TOO bright. I'm not sure if the EQ
controls are boost/cut or just cut - I leave them maxxed and it sounds
best to me like that. The bass is VERY solidly built. It's neck is
wider at the nut, like a P-bass. I have big hands, so this is OK, but
G&L offers the bass with a Jazz-like neck. The bridge is very solid
and is a smart design. I can't say much about "Customer support"
because I just got the bass, but it comes with a 10-year warranty, an
owners' manual, all the allen wrenches you need, a certificate of
authenticity (signed by Mrs. Fender, Leo's wife), and a card that
explains all the switch functions. All-in-all a very solid, cool,
versatile bass. Well worth the $$.
