Nickel-roundwound on hex steel core construction seems to work. Very full and responsive sound, remarkable sustain and a huge bottom end; plenty of midrange honk, and a bright but not brittle top end that's very easily rolled off for a warmer, more vintage sound. The feel is nice, much softer than stainless steel, but more tension than some nickel sets, and so needing very little effort for lots of dynamics. Stable tuning. I imagine these will prove quite kind frets in the long term, too.
