This amp is OK... I could never really get MY tone from it, regardless of
the fact that you can get "any tone imaginable" from it. I couldnt
get it to cut through the mix.. ever.
If you're into having your bass punch right through the mix and be
prominent look elsewhere. Mesa states it can 'growl.' No it cant.
This thing has about 100 knobs and switches on it. It takes a while to
figure out whats going on with it, and if you plan on changing your tone
for a few minutes just for fun, good luck.
And the reliability on this thing is HORRIBLE. Here's my most recent
story about this amp... I was playing one morning, then I hear horrible
static and it sounds like my amp is going to explode. I turn it off, then
on a few minutes later, and I have hardly any volume. I take it to a local
amp repair shop, he spends about a week finding the right schematics, and
trying to sort out whats going on inside (if you open it up you'll see
how much junk is thrown in there), then he finally gets the OFFICIAL ones
from mesa which are hand drawn.. you heard me right.. hand drawn.. While
talking on the phone with a Mesa rep, the rep is quoted saying "this
amp has 'issues.'"
That should say it right there.
