This amp is nearly indescribable. The ampeg gear is synonymous with durability and I think that i have proven that point to myself. In short i like the amp allot for its power to size ratio.. It cuts almost all gigs that i have played in the last 5 years or so. IT HAS NEVER BROKEN DOWN OR FAILED.. I turn the switch on and it always goes and is ready. I have played amps that have cleaner tone and more bells and whistles. But this amp does the job for most rock R&B gigs with no problem. I stopped using it for a few months while i was running my Mesa Mpulse 600. But I am back to the SVT3 Pro for its great Rock Sound.. I have an earlier SVT3 no Pro from about 1992 or so and that amp sounds much better actually but does not have the power that the later Pro model does.. The same with the SVT2 Pro.. I have a 1989 version of that amp and it sounds way better than the later Pro version. The no-pro versions if you can find them seem to sound closer to the original SVT as far as clarity goes than the newer Pro versions do in my opinion.
