Let me start off by saying that this is the best sounding amp I have EVER played through. This particular amp was born in 1993, but the previous owner had the guts upgraded to current specs, including the DI (previous versions of which were known to be noisy). I felt strange shelling out $1000 for a 6-year-old amp, but this thing has been worth every cent. The thing that kills me is this: I found the best sound running the EQ perfectly flat. There's this wonder-knob, "Enhance," that does exactly that; it creates a naturally scooped EQ. I just tweak the enhance knob up about a quarter and then I get this huge, round, clean and warm sound. It previously took me weeks to find my favorite tones from my amp (Ampeg SVP-pro preamp), whereas the Eden required only five seconds of tweaking the Enhance knob.
This amp sounds amazing, is ridiculously easy to find great tones and is built like a tank. The 800watts RMS is very conservatively rated, meaning that this thing delivers a huge clean sound. It's also about 20 lbs. lighter and a rackspace smaller than my previous preamp/poweramp configuration. I especially like the fact that Eden offers reasonably-priced upgrades to keep all of their older gear up to current specs. It took me awhile to find a used one, and now I understand why. This isn't an amp that you let go of. I consider this to be the last amp I'll ever need to buy, unless, God forbid, something really horrible happens to it!
Now for the two things that I wish it had (which isn't much):
1) I think that an extra 200 watts power handling would give me much more headroom, but to tell you the truth- 800 watts bridged into an 8 ohm 4x10 is quite loud enough for me.
2) I would be nice if this amp could also bridge into 4 ohms
