This is now my favorite single cabinet. It has the clearest, smoothest sound of any other cabinet I have used. I bought it as sort of a fluke. I saw a pair of them on ebay with a starting bid of $200, so I put in a bid of $210 on one of them just for fun, never thinking I would win, but only one other person bid on it, so I won it. Looking back, I wish I would have bought both of them, bacause I have never seen another one. I can use this for small gigs because it takes up very little floor space, but I can use it for large gigs also, because it is loud enough for just about anything. I use a Demeter preamp through a Crest CA 9 power amp (800 watts into 4 ohms), and this cabinet never flinches. It has a very even low and high end, and a very musical sounding midrange, that cuts through like nothing else I have ever played through. For its size, it is heavy. Bag End cabinets are built extremely solid, which, I think, adds to their great sound. I am really surprised that they are not more popular. After buying this 2-12, I bought 2 2-10s, and a 4-10, which all sound great, but if I could only own one cabinet, it would be the D12-D.
