I had been out of the bass business for several years when the opportunity arrose to re-enter the music world as a player. I had owned and played several different makes/models, but never a high-end instrument. I owned a Fender American Std Jazz V, however it was time to move up. A friend and I drove to Louisville, KY and test drove probably 20 different makes and models you all have heard and read about. He, veteran, seasoned, and well traveled bassist, and I both agreed that our choices would be Pedulla and the Roscoe. He bought the Pedulla, and I bought the Roscoe. I could not be more pleased! The tone on this instrument is flat awsome. The bottom end and especially the B is it! That B is earth-shaking and will sustain forever. I use an Eden WT300 head w/XLT410 cab which seems to be the best tone I have encountered thusfar. I have played this bass through SWR, Carvin, Peavey, and others, but the Eden seems to please me best. The finish is mirror-like and flawless - enough said. I purchased my Roscoe through the dealer in Louisville, but was able to visit the Roscoe factory to take delivery. Kieth Roscoe personally took me on a tour and showed me the production process. The neck is hand-carved, which allows for very slight differences in feel from bass to bass. Mine feels slightly different from the ones I played in Louisville, but make no mistake, it is very very comfortable and fast. Only two complaints regarding construction: The fret kerf cuts are not fully filled which shows the kerf (I filled mine w/some color putty) and the G and D strings are ever so slightly close @ the nut as compared to the spacing of the other strings. Niether complaint has adversly affected my love of the LG3005. Everything else about this bass is top-notch. Kieth Roscoe used hipshot tuners as standard issue and my bass has an ABM bridge that has held it's adjustments without any problems. The hardware is black as standard issue. The four control pots work and feel great. An A-1 instrument.
