I have used Alembic F2Bs for the last twenty years, for both
string and electric bass, and I recommend it highly. It is
simple, quiet, and reliable, and most important, it sounds
very good in almost any setting. I find the sound to be what
I would characterize as 'accurate+', in other words, it helps
the instrument sound like itself, and adds a little extra
(warm bass, slightly scooped-out mids, very pretty highs with
accurate-sounding finger/string noise).
