I bought this bass in Tokyo 2 years ago. Neck is pretty thin,(not thin like some Ibanez) and very comfortable to play. even on small hands. Bass is well balanced and flame walnut top is very cool looking. Back wood is similar to mahogany (I think) and do little to this bass's sound. Yes, as you might expect from graphite neck, it is dead-spot free! and slap happy! Fingerboad is very flat and fret work is less than perfect.(2nd fret is lower than other! Buzz!!) But otherwise, excellent construction. Sound:........it sounds very puncy and with mid-boost, it cuts through in the band situation. With treble/bass boost with mid cut, makes very "sharp cutting" slap tone. Very cool....very graphite. People say graphite neck is "weather-proof"......wrong. I had a gig outside with below freezing temp.....talking about neck warp! I had to retune my bass after every song! Not to mention the very cold neck since it's a plastic with graphite re-enforcement!!! Great sustain! It'll ring forever!!!!!!!! I was very happy with this bass, looks very cool (Mark King!) and plays, sounds excellent!!!! Bad things........this bass sounds so LIFELESS! I guess it's because of graphite neck.... Otherwise, it's a excellent bass!!! But it can't beat my Alembic though....
