I'm the guy who reviewed my '75 Fender Precision with the original nickle flatwound strings on it. My bass teacher kept bugging me that I HAD to get new strings, so I finally gave in. I WILL NOT put roundwound strings on my bass - I love the pure Motown/Reggae bass sound. The horror, the horror!!! These strings are TWANGY :0 ! I HATE them. If they don't go dead soon, the old strings are going back on. If you like a DEEP bass sound, try and find a 27 year old set of flatwound strings - mine AIN'T for sale at any price!!!!!!!!!
