I purchased the Hartke Kickback 10 because I wanted a small light
weight bass amp to use for practice and small gigs.I was tired of
carring around my rack and 4-10" cabinets. Of all the small amps that
I tried, the Hartke seemed to have the least comprimising tone and was
able to produce clean volumes without distortion. I tried the Hartke
Kickback 10, 12, and 15 models. Believe it or not the Kickback 10
model actually sounded better to my hears than the 12 or 15 models
(sounds a little like the 3 bears story). It had a more compressed
sound and handled my 5-string Roscoe and Warmouth basses at small gig
volumes very cleanly. I used it a a Youth Church gig and playing
aggresive contemporary Christian it cut through the drums, guitar, and
keyboards very well. While it is not an all purpose bass amp (it will
never sound like my SWR 400S and 4-10" rig) it handles what it was
designed for with class and style.
