I needed to lighten up the set on my Warwick a bit. To me, lighter strings
produce more growl on a fretless. I use Thomastick flatwounds on my other
fretless basses and I love them. So I decided to try a set of roundwound
Jazz. The have a REAL slinky feel. Either due to the light guage, round
core, or a combination of both. The produce a very nice warm tone, with
just the right amount of growl (it may differ depending on fretboard
wood-ebony, rosewood, etc.) They are also a rich, full bodied string. If
you want a warm, jazz sound, these'll do the job really well.
