When I originally looked into these cabinets, I was warned that they MUST MUST MUST have a ton of power to drive 'em. I have a Mackie 1400i power amp, and figured that the 475-500 watts that each channel delivers would be enough. The resulting tone was disappointing at higher volumes - none of the low end these speakers are becoming famous for.

THEN: I bridged the amp into mono - 1400 watts into 4 ohms. The difference is like night and day - more bottom than my massive 15" PA cabinets. The low B string on my Carvin 6 sounds like a cannon, and slapping my fretted 4 puts kick drums to shame. Bass Player had it right when they said this cab "sounds three times its size". At 49 lbs., I can carry it with one hand and sound bigger than my old 4x10" + 1x15" Hartke rig. The clarity is as remarkable as the low end - fretless sounds especially gorgeous with this cab, since the midrange is focused and present without coloration.

This is a seriously incredible cabinet. However, only buy it if you have *at least* 500 watts. Forget the power rating, it NEEDS that many to sound good. When it has 'em, it's better than anything else I've ever run through (including Eden, Warwick, Ampeg, Hartke, etc.). No joke.
