First, this is definitely the finest sounding pre-amp in the world. When you wake up and realize that three million effects don't really make the bass line sit better in the mix during "My Girl", you realize that you should spend the bulk of your dough on something that makes you sound the most solid you can possibly sound. The tonal controls are superb in thier ability to manipulate the shape of the EQ, and the true parametrics make all those fancy graphic eq's out thier look and sound like toys. The choices of outputs on the back is nice, too. I chose to run a full range output to my power amp as well as running the low end out with the crossover point set at 450hz. I have a separate volume control on the front of the 680 for the full range (master) and for the sub (low out). PUNCH-YY. The dual channel (footswitchable) are nice as well. This is real pro's equipment, made by pros.
