I already reviewed their guitar 1 cable; it sounds good, but not much better than cables that are half the price. Everyone told me the guitar 2 is where it's at, so when it came time for a new cord I took the plunge. I'm not disappointed. This is totally transparent; you get a sense that a fog has lifted in the room, or that someone took a blanket off the amp. If anything it sounds like no cord at all, which is the idea. You might not hear any difference with loud guitars and drums in the room, but if you're recording, playing a quiet gig, soloing, or just practicing, the added clarity and presence is real nice.
The guitar 1 cable is just a regular coaxial cable that's made out of good materials (silver plated, very pure copper, teflon insulation, etc.) The guitar 2 is a whole different design. It's double balanced, which means there are 2 separate conductors inside, and the braided shield is not part of the signal path. This design makes a huge difference. The guitar 2 costs $30 more, but seems like a much better value. It's the best sounding cord I've used . . I'd either go with this or with decent quality cheap cords like the Whirlwinds. Don't bother with anything in between.
