I bought this preamp hoping to bring back the sound of my long lost SVT! It is a very versatile preamp with an overabundance of control features. While I still miss the soft clipping of the SVT's power tubes, the all tube design of this preamp does add that tube growl to your sound. I only have one complaint with this preamp. A tag was attached to the unit claiming that it was "Groove Tube Equipped". However, when I opened the unit up to look inside, I noticed that of the six tubes, 1 was a Groove Tube, and the rest were common Sovteks.
