This amp rocks!! Its really loud and it has that famous Ampeg fatness and warmth ( anyone else tired of the term warmth? anyway )although its not as warm and fuzzy as Ampegs tube model amps, they still managed to keep that great tone. The ultra low and hi switchs are really great...although i found the ultra hi to be a bit too much and didn't use it very often....but MAN!! the ultra low switch is the cherry on top....the low frequencies just seem to glow when its on....sounds like chocolate just oozing out of the speakers. So clean and rich ( not to mention loud as hell ). As far as size goes....yeah its a beast...but i didn't mind much its worth it once you get on stage. The 9 band EQ was also on/off-able, by a footswith even. I liked this feature because when i went to do some tapping it was nice to be able to kick in that little boost of volume. Overall I would recommend this amp to anyone who likes to keep a specific tone....its by no means versitile tone wise....but the tone it produces is universal so maybe in that respect it is. Great amp. Not tube. But Great none the less. Have fun.
