This bass is an exact replica of a Fender Jazz. Everything from the headstock to the font used for the lettering to the pickup cover is an exact duplicate of the J-Bass. That makes me think that it's an older (70's) model. I've never seen another like it.
Everything about this bass is vintage J-bass except for one thing. The E string is kind of muddy. It doesn't have the snappy tone of a J-bass. Other than that you really can't tell the difference. The neck is the usual thin, J-bass neck with a "varnish" finish which can make it feel sticky when your sweating on stage.
For the most part this bass has been good to me and I use it as my primary instrument. I cannot argue about the price (free is always good).
