About 3 months ago I decided I was tired of the Bag End 15's I use and wanted a small box w/10's that was front ported and had a bit more push. After reading the bass player review of this box 100 times I ordered one. Well, I've been using it ALL the time.
This baby has a fantastic sound and is the best gear buy I ever made for the money. It has more lows, mids, and highs than my comparable eden box had w/ a really nice grind to the tone. This is similar to what an ampeg delivers at 1/3 the money and with more clarity. It's easy to transport alone, built like a tank, and plenty loud for a small gig. I plan to buy another for larger gigs as the Bag End doesn't work well with anything other than another Bag End and aesthetically I like the look of matching cabs, besides...pro tone for $258 including delivery?!?!?! are u kidding me???
I power it w/ my trusted 1st run 300 watt Eden Traveler and use monster cables to hook everything up. My basses are all 4 strings so I don't know how well it does with a low B (who can hear that anyway?). My basses are a Fender Victor Bailey w/ roto swingbass, a Jack Casady w/D'addario 165's , and a 65 Precision w/ tapewounds...it delivers thier tone with all of them. You just won't find more bass for your buck than Avatar. Forget the too expensive brand names, save some money for strings, late night breakfast, CD's.... and BUY ONE.
