I have had the hardest time finding one or more cabinets that are small, loud and accurate/warm. I have tried several cabinets including a 1x10" and a 2x10" from a very highly regarded and very expensive cabinet maker. These cabinets ended up sounding sterile with an artificial midrange. At least one of them suffered from reliability problems. But now, after years of trying, I think I have finally found the ideal cabs. I purchased the single 15" off of Ebay and liked it immediately. I used it by itself on one gig and it held up very well. I am running the preamp from an Eden head and a seperate power amp. This was a small gig but the cab was plenty loud with good lows and midrange. After trying it out, I decided to buy a new 15" cab with the tweeter. Bag End gives a 6 yr warranty on new purchases and I figured that I should have at least one cab with a warranty. The tweeter really made a difference. It is strong but not overpowering. Combining the two cabinets was a great combination for my Ken Smith 4. It has great low end, punchy low mids, clear high mids and lots of snap for slapping from the tweeter. I used it on a mid-size gig today and it sounded great. The best thing is that I don't have to run my amp (250 watts per channel) very hard at all to get plenty of volume. The only improvement that I think I could ever make is to add one more cabinet for a really powerful rig. Maybe someday I will. One other thing, these cabs are rear ported and while you get a low end boost by placing them a few inches away from a wall. There is still great low end and the tone may seem even a little clearer. Hands down, these are the best cabinets that I have ever owned.
