Still, after hearing one more player wax about the sound on fenderforum.com, I started a watch for "Bergantino" on eBay. Sure enough, one was listed a few months later, and it was local! I ran right over, and got a chance to hear it, AND a 2X12 at the same time. The seller was keeping the 2X12, so I bought the 3X10.
I used it that weekend in a room that I had played many times, and was notorius for bad sound. The low end improvement was noticable right away. The sound was balanced, and I didn't experience the ear fatigue that had me turning up the treble in the 3rd and 4th sets before.
It is now a year later, and its still the only cabinet I bring to gigs. Here's a pic http://www.mrdos.com/images/20020630_Bergantino_900.jpg.
