Very nice bass. Solid workmanship and high-quality components. Wide variety of sounds available using the master tone knob. I went with flatwounds on the fretless, and get a lovely growl. Bass comes equipped with Hipshot bridge, a massive chunk of metal that is much more solid than earlier Carvin bridges. Outstanding value, compares very favorably with customs costing 2 and 3 times as much. Had auditioned Tobias, Yamaha, Alembic basses, but couldn't justify their cost. I was familiar with Carvin through their guitars and saw great reviews and comments from users in newsgroups, so I took a chance. I'm really glad I did, because this bass has provided hours of playing pleasure since it's arrived.
