Let me begin by saying this is a beautiful bass, made in the USA, starting at $800. Wow. Overall, it's terrific looking; the sunburst finish looks great over flamed maple, with gold hardware and a snazzy ebony fingerboard. Mine has no inlays. The neck joint is silky smooth.
The bass is extremely playable. The action is super fast, at 3/32" high. The fretting is awesome, no buzz, and the neck is very solid. One great thing about the BB75 is the extra-wide string spacing -- it's an extra 1/4" wider at the 24th fret -- that makes it great for slapping, but it is regulation width at the nut so it's very fast and comfortable for the left hand.
The bridge is (I think) Wilkinson/Carvin. It's a pretty bridge, and it seems to be rock-solid. My BB75 has the Sperzel locking tuners. I like them. My understanding is that the new Carvins come with Gotoh-like "Carvin" tuners. My BB75 seems to stay in tune forever.
Plugged in, this bass sounds pretty good. The active EQ is helpful, but I almost never find a need to boost the highs. I can get a good deep tone good for reggae & blues, and the slap sound is very good. Bypassing the EQ on my amp, I can approach the classic Jaco sound. When I compare it with the sound I get from my EMG-45DC equipped 6 string, though, the BB75 can't match up with the clarity and sweetness the EMG's produce.
