For the price Carvin offers you can't get a better bass. Period. It is a well made neck thru with a comfortable feel and look about it, although not very unique in design. The frets are leveled pretty well with only a little string buzz which is correctable with a few minor adjustments. The translucent finish I got was beautiful. You can see the wood grain through it and the pearl block inlays are expertly place in the fretboard. The passive electronics that came with the LB20 were not that great though. They are real sensitive and produce a lot of weird grounding pops and crackles which i had to take into the shop a few times. However, after I replaced the pickups and electronics with EMG's this thing was amazing (of course).

BOTTOM LINE: Very well made and affordable even with options, a best buy, Carvin electronics are not great, replace those pickups and you have a high end neck thru, buy it because it's better than a fender jazz.
