Very nice. I already own a Carvin 6-string fretless, see my othe review for that one. Basically, the same overal goes here: incredible value. The walnut is gorgeous, the workmanship is impeccable, and it sounds very good. Not great, there is some buzz when the humbucker is turned on (exposed pole pieces?) and the J99 sounds better than Carvin's stacked p/u's, but it does pick up hum. The sound is suprisingly different in passive mode (but good). I'm planning on upgrading to some Lane Poor pickups, then I'll have a $1200 bass that will eat most $2k basses for breakfast!

The pickups actually sound *almost* good enough. The HB-2 option is recommended, you can get that MM sound and more with it.
