First let me say that I've played bass for 28 years and in that time
I've played nearly every top brand at one time or another. To put it
simply, for the price, nothing can touch my new Carvin LB76. When I
opened the case, I was completely stunned. The koa wood is beautiful
and the finish is absolutely flawless!
The ebony fret board is silky smooth, the neck is very fast, and the
intonation was perfect right out of the case! The active tone
controls give the bass incredible range and clarity. Weight
distribution is just right and it lays perfectly around my neck. I
have never received so many compliments on the looks and sound of any
instrument as I have of this bass. The only problem that I "thought"
I had was with the case (bad fit). I called Carvin and not only did
they send me a new case, they shipped it free and paid postage on the
returned case. How about that! The bottom line - in the sub $2K
market, nothing comes close.
