this is my first 5 string. for the money, i think its a pretty good deal. it was designed by greg curbow for cort its made in korea, but seems well built. i usually play a stingray, so i really like having the 3 band eq. the luthite smells kind of weird, but i only notice it right when it comes out of the case. i also like that this bass is quite light weight. FYI: luthite is some sort of synthetic wood. ibanez uses it for their ergodyne basses. ebanol is a composite, like graphite. i think modulous basses have ebanol fingerboards.
