As a newcomer to the bass world,I was looking for an unexpensive, but trusty bass, but all of them exceeded my bugdet...´til I found this unbelievable Cort:Wow!.First of all,the finish, that makes it outstand among much more priced others;the second shock comes when you put your hands over it,reinforcing the impression of playing a custom instrument-sorry,maybe my lack of experience,I know I´m a bass nerd, but I feel real enthusiastic about that Cort!-.The feeling of the neck and fingerboard is superb, the instrument feels solid when playing-and light weighted,no backbreaker here!-,and the tones, very modern oriented, have a wide tonal range, thanks to the on-board EQ:but this bass has been created for slap-o-mania(it almost slaps alone!),and you can find an slap preset switch, with two little pots on the back, which you can customize with the help of a little screwdriver;the only negative point I find is the lack of balance when sitting;you´ll always need a strap, but ít´s not a major trouble.I play the bass through a line6 POD in its "tube preamp" position, with a heavy comp and a little reverb, monitoring with my hi-fi home setup (Luxman 40+40 amp and Vieta 3-way bass reflex loudspeakers)and sounds killer!.Just imagine with a ballsy Ampeg or a punchy Hartke!.Considering its price,it´s a real deal(don´t know the current conversion to USD,but I paid 83.900 pesetas-I live in Barcelona,Spain_-for it,soft case included)
