Getting back to the basics, Charles Cote has constructed an old school
Jazz-style 4 that says just one thing... 'play me'. The neck on this
bass is silky smooth, with perfect fret work, and zero dead spots. I
live in Hawaii and even the high humudity and heat can't touch this
neck. The body is all Jazz. Badass II bridge, and hipshot ultralight
tuners are top notch. The tonal range of the Lindy Fralin passive jazz
pickups is so large it's almost comical. With the bridge pickup
isolated and the tone flat, this bass farts up a class 5 storm. My
only problem with construction came right before a huge Saturday gig.
The bone nut came unglued about 10 minutes before show time.
Fortunately I tracked down some superglue and fixed it in time.
From what I understand, Charles is on a luthier hiatus so you'll have
to find one of these beauties on the used market.......and mine is not
for sale. Sorry
