I love the bass. Having a bass made of this caliber was fun. I have small hands and Dave made the neck RAZOR-thin.. I mean far thinner than a Fender Jazz. He reinforced the neck with 2 carbon rods, one each beside the truss. Very solid feel bass with a huge sound. I am not into the Bartolini setup too much.. but this bass outplays any JAzz bass I've ever heard and/or played. I am currently amp-shopping and take this bass with me to test amps. I have received many, many compliments on it, and inquiries as to who did the job, how much, etc.. I compared its sound and playability to an Alembic and I liked the Pushic bass better--it certainly is a hell of a lot cheaper too. Anyway, Dave responded to every e-mail I sent and was always professional and polite. He seems very busy, always working in his shop in North Carolina. What resulted was a bass that would be worth at least twice as much as I paid--if you slapped a PRS, Fender, etc label on it... I love the bass, what can I say. Very solid feel... was going for a Jazz bass, but the bass is quite versatile, can growl. Looking back, I'd not have gone active pickups, but oh well. Dave shielded the electronics far more than some manufacturers like Fender do... he also made a control-cavity cover out of walnut, matching the bass\' body. Very well-made bass that never goes out of tune. I had Dave Pushic place Bartolini soapbars, a BadAss II black bridge, and Gotoh tuning keys up top. What more can I say... it hhas a flaw or two, but that is because the wood itself has flaws. Again, people people in stores, etc \"suppose\" I paid $2500+ for this bass.. both because of its sound and craftsmanship. Highly recommended. Dave will work with you to build the bass you want.. the end result is very rewarding.. problem is.. the bass is SO nice, that I am scared it will scratch, etc if I take it out too much.
