Went shopping for an amp and stumbled upon this cool looking 6 string fretless. I'd never had any interest in a 6 string before, but the amazing sound I got out of this one (along with the great price) convinced me to stick with my old amp and buy a new toy instead.
Having had it for a few months, I can honestly say this isn't something I could play all the time. I still don't like the longer neck, and the action is way too high once you get down towards the middle of the neck. This annoyance is magnified by the fact that there aren't frets to anchor the strings against, you have to make solid contact against the fretboard.
Plus the strings are very close together, which has been very difficult to adjust to. OK, so these are problems you will probably find with most other fretless 6 strings. The good news is that the unique sound of a fretless combined with the EMG pickups are just too cool to consider selling this bass. And for those of you actually wanting to learn a! ! 6, NOTHING holds a candle to the Edge 6 when it comes to value.
