I got to determine every aspect of this bass. String spacing, fret board radius, scale length, etc.
The sound is awsome. The lane poors with the Bartolini system is perfect for me. The controls are laid out in an intuitive manner. It has an onboard Whittman tuner. I can go to passive if the batteries quit on stage.
It is a neck through, but I had David do the entire top in the maple, covering the neck. It is beautiful. It has a thumb rest running the length of the body with the tuner inlaid in the thumb rest. The back has two cavities. One for the electronics, the other for the batteries (all three of them). The cavities are covered by matching wood dove tailed sliding covers. A very nice touch.
It is a headless bass but does not use Steinberger double ball strings. Instead it uses set screws at the head end to hold down any string I want to use. David makes his own hardware for the bridge and head.
