I just traded "down" from a high end boutique bass and I couldn't be happier. Now instead of worrying about the fine piece of furniture I had, I can just PLAY!

There are three things I love about this bass. First, the playability. After a few days of adjusting, I was playing much faster than with my old bass, which had a very wide and thin neck. The neck profile on this bass is very comfortable, and the oil finish is speedy. The strings are taut, and the action is great.

Second, I love the construction. The finish is beautiful. The frets are perfect. The pots are really solid.

Third is THE SOUND!!!! Instant mix-friendly tone. Slap is incredible, fingerstyle is totally punchy. And here's the best thing. This bass really responds to my playing technique. Just moving hand positions can dramatically change tone. I feel like I can really express myself on this bass. The bass just fits really well into the mix, no matter what style I'm playing. It's a very ballsy, gutsy sound. Even the B string sounds tight.

Is there anything I don't like about it? Yup. I can't stand the look of StingRay pickguards...I've always hated them. But I'm getting used to it. That beautiful transparent teal finish keeps me liking the look of the bass overall.
