This is an ok bass for beginners but for anyone looking for a fully functional bass this is not for you. The tone pots on these are crap as for almost any Epiphone you can find. I personally think this is an okay bass but for being a p-bass you don't even get the growl that you do out of a Fender or Squire. I am intending on upgrading the pickups to the Basslines 1/4 LB P-bass. I hope that helps out my tone pot and give me the p-bass sound I am looking for. All in all if you are a beginner looking for an ok bass to start out with and to get you going get this bass. But if you intend on using it for gigs or whatever you could imagine doing with it. I would recommend getting new pickups and most likely a new pre-amp. I intend on buying an Ernie Ball Sterling ASAP(when I get the cash $$$!). Anyway the bass will give you slap and sounds pretty good through an amp. SO Go out there and buy it you beginners! For you pros, I love you guys and admire all the work you do. Thanks for giving us a good name. Because we have people out there like MARK HOPPUS and many other PUNK bassists giving us bad reps just because they can't play anything. P.S.! If you want to learn a cool solo learn Metallica-Anesthesia!
