As everyone knows, a flying V is a matter of taste - and love on first sight....

This is not everyones bass, then it's sound isn't clean-hifi like. It rumbles, growls and snorrrsss. It's the one for rockin', riffin' and driven thru a tube overdrive(like) amp combination.

Beside the cheapo Epiphone sticker on the headstock (which already tries to fall off), the overall construction and cosmetics are more than OK. All Hardware is in gold, the used hardware is for as far as I can see produced by Gotoh, and works well. The only thing which may be ommitted is the PU select switch, as there are two volumes on this axe... The used humbuckers honour their name, and are silent close to harddisk recording gear, and amps alike. The black paint sits on well, and the white - three layer pickguard is shaped after the '67 Flying V guitar.

Due to its shorter scale, and the inherent string tension, not too much of the bulky neck slows down playing it fast. If you like me are used to the more common 34", one has to get used for a few minutes on this shorter scale. Beside getting used to it's scale, tuning seems to be a bit harder to achieve.

I drive this baby thru a BassPod preamp into a Peavey 2KiloWatt(yes!!!) poweramp. The latter drives one 15" Hartke and one 4x 10" Peavey cab.

Use old Marshall or another nice tubedrive sound from the Pod, plenty of headroom from the poweramp and cabs, plug in the Flying V and the old rock like Motorhead and stuff flows out thick and juicy. Just rock it!!!
