Here is the blurb from the F Bass website on the model I got: BN6, six string fretted bass Same features as BN5 but 24 frets.

One of the easiest six string basses to play, no tendinitis, and, at only 9 pounds, no physio.

My 2 Cents:

I have been playing basses off and on for over 18 years. One of those goals of mine was to eventually get myself a bass that was worth playing and keeping. I am not a professional by any means of the word, however I am pretty damn good at my instrument. My dream bass was something that evolved from a 4 to a 5 to a 6 string bass. So I would go and visit different music stores in search of that one bass that would catch my attention and overcome my pocketbook. I never found it until now. I tried Alembics, Warwicks, Zons, Fenders, Ibanez, Musicman, and so on ad nauseum. However, this last week I stopped by a music store in Monterrey, CA to piddle around and see what equipment was available when I came upon a wonderful little gem of a bass made by a company called F Bass.

Me being the dummy assumed that it was some iteration of Fodera Fender or something like that. I proved myself wrong because it is canuck made by some guy by the name of George Furlanetto. After speaking with the store owner, John Prock, himself an outstanding bass-player and owner of 4 F Basses, I tried out the instrument: an F Bass BN6 6 string bass guitar.

This instrument was pure honey in my hands and rang with sweetness through and through! I couldn't believe it! After noodling around on this bass and being swept away by the pure ringing tones on all sections of the fingerboard, I had to put it down and cogitate on the possibilities of loosing my purse strings to purchase this beauty. After a day away from it, with visions of a certain F Bass BN6 filling my waking thoughts I decided that I was going to purchase it. I went back to the store and plopped down the plastique for it, because I was given a now or never deal that beat out the MSRP by an extreme amount. John Prock hooked me up. I decided that it was time and bought it.

The tones on this bass, from the fundamental B all the way up to the highest C, are so clear and ringing that they either bring tears to your eyes because of the high notes or abdominal enjoyment because of the low-end notes!

My bottom line is this: if you have the money don't look any further at other basses, plop down for this brand and you'll be glad you did. This brand is the Bomb! If you can, try one out yourself and you will never go back. I have made the jump, will you? Not a paid endorsement, just an honest-to-goodness opinion.
